We have to wear sage green scrubs. Hospital bought 'em all though.
I worked at one hospital that required white based uniforms (designs OK, but had to be mostly white), one that had 2 patterns of printed scrubs you could choose from, one with required color scrubs (current), and then many that didn't care - just had to be scrubs.
I'm not sure which I prefer. I don't like the idea of the patients not being able to easily differentiate between staff members (RN vs. C.N.A., etc), but I also like a little bit of individuality. I do not like cartoon scrubs unless you work in peds or OB.
I do like the idea of all of us in one color - as long as we can individualize somehow (shirts underneath, shoes, etc.)
But ask me tomorrow and I'll probably have a different opinion.
