That's certainly a clever way of doing it. If the vast majority of a member's points ended up coming from blog posts, though, we might end up having to give more weight to posts on the forum. Right now I think we're fine, though.

Just to avoid any problems at the end, I have gone ahead and amended the rules to better clarify intent.

• We had already stated clearly that "it's most important for you to actually be a part of Nursing Voices and not just blog about it," so I also added that not more than 25% of your overall points can come from blog posts just to put more structure around that.
• In addition, I also added that the blog must be already be established so that people don't just create a blog in order to earn points.

Any blog posts you've made up until now that don't meet these conditions will count toward your final total, however, since these guidelines are new. We just won't count any new ones going forward.

Thanks for the clarification Shane. I think people holding a contest can most definitely change the rules at any time. However, I think I'm just going to post on the forums and not on a blog now. I really like contributing to the forum and a blog post is getting kind of repetitive. I mean, there's no point in just copy and pasting the same 3 sentences on every post. At least on the forum there's a wider range of discussion/content.

I have to ask... Do you have to live in the US to win this fantastic contest? Or are those of us who live just to the north of you able to try to win too?

(I gotta know before I get my hopes up. )

Great question LittleBird and welcome to Nursing Voices! I'm from Canada too! I'm pretty sure this contest is open to anyone living anywhere since it didn't state in the rules. Oh, yeah. It's definitely open to everyone. Not sure if the iPhone will work up there (or across the pond, for those who live closer to Julie), but you can always take the iPod option if it won't.
