Joy,
What a great story that would be for Change of Shift! Do you have a blog? Maybe I can host the story if you don't and then link to it in the next Change of Shift!

How very kind of you, Kim. You may host/link the story. Let me know if you want me to tighten up the story a bit. I do not have a blog of my own. I am, however, working (slowly) on a book. Joy Last edited by LesleyJoy : 04-04-2008 at 09:26 AM. Reason: fixed a booboo |

Thank you, too, for your goodwill. I am still looking for another job. Given my recent lack of success, perhaps that new job is going to have to find me! Joy |

Joy~
First off, let me tell you how significant and heartwarming the story you shared was! Thank you. Secondly, not sure how interested you may be in relocating but on the lovely (and I mean that) coast of Maine, there is a small~ 25 bed, 1300+ admission/yr~ Critical Access Hospital that needs a Director of Patient Services. Has L&D svcs, ED (7400 visits/yr), med/surg (minor surg and uncomplicated ortho), small ICU. PM me know if you are interested and I will give you contact information. DivaRN |

Thank you, DivaRN.
...Maine, huh? Sounds interesting! Please do PM information about the hospital to me. I will then do some research and will get back to you all about the results. Thank you. Remember now, Everyone, I think finding me a day job just might require a group effort. The good folk at my current place are on the lookout for interesting opportunities for me. Areas and ideas ranging from Alaska to New Zealand to Puerto Rico and from House Sup to Nurse Manager to Education have been suggested. I do not want to return to the bedside, but much prefer taking care of nurses and the public. How many others among you know of hospitals/ideas which might be a good fit for me (what you know of me, that is, through what I have written in Nursing Voices)? Thanks again! Joy |
