Hello! Haven't been on in awhile...

I'm looking for information on "Death Rounds." This is where the interdisciplinary team or residents/docs, etc. get together and go over a particular death or two; a debriefing of sorts... I heard a little about it at a conference, but would like to know more.

Do any of your hospitals do it? How is it structured, etc?

I've never heard of death rounds before. They sound like they would be a way of helping staff cope.

Not sure what the docs at our hospital do formally, but we do have a palliative care nurse that is on-call to do debriefings for any of the staff. She is a Godsend.

Elocin, are you perhaps referring to M&M meetings? (morbidity & mortality)

It seems to ring a bell, but I can't think of where. It might be something done for wards/facilities which have long term patients, such as oncology/aged care/pediatrics and the nurses are getting close to them.
