I got some great feedback from out CEO today about a paper I wrote last week and that made me feel that people recognise that I am doing a good job.

when I worked in clinical practice it was feedback from the patients in terms of what they said to others that made it worthwhile.

What makes you feel that all the hard work is worth getting out of bed on a wet and cold morning?

The words, "Thank you." AND a big fat raise. Yeah, like that ever happens.

I like when my patient's family asks if I'm going to be there the next day to take care of their loved one again. That always makes me feel good.

Me too Geena...it's a wonderful compliment. I also like marriage proposals from the old men while their wives are looking on.... just their way of saying......you went above and beyond. THAT feels so good!
