Default Hurst review before the NCLEX

Hello, has anyone taken the Hurst review to get ready for their NCLEX exam? I've heard mixed responses and I am not sure if this is the best route to prepare for my NCLEX exam. I do use all the ATI information I have available however, the Hurst review committee spoke to our nursing class and made it sound almost necessary in order to pass the exam. It's pretty spendy to register so I was wondering if anyone had any feedback regarding the review. Thank you very much.

Default

My University pushed the Kaplan review on us, and it was very costly as well. A classmate told me there are plenty of online resources for passing NCLEX that are much cheaper in price to free.

She gave me this url:
http://www.passnursing.com

I haven't checked it out yet, but maybe it can help you.

Good luck!

A.

Default take the Kaplan review!

Hey there,

I took the Hurst review last year right after nursing school and it did not help me. Hurst just goes over content that you already know...it does not give you strategies for answering questions, which is the key to passing NCLEX. You've graduated from nursing school, you know the content already. You just need to know how to answer the questions.

I did not pass the NCLEX the first time (when I took the Hurst). The second time around, I took the Kaplan online course and it was a God sent! I went in overprepared for the NCLEX. I took 75 questions and finished in no time. The Kaplan is very expensive, but I would bet that you would pass the 1st time if you took it.

Good luck!

Default Hurst is awesome!

I took the Hurst review, and I thought it was AMAZING. Worth every penny. I don't know how you can take it and think that it doesn't teach testing strategies. IT TEACHES TONS OF TESTING STRATEGIES. On top of that, it goes over all your basic content so that you ONLY have to study the review book they give you. You DON'T need to get out any of your nursing school books or notes. You get a CD and a DVD with more information and lots of practice questions. And what's more, the review is actually entertaining! Hurst has a 99% pass rate for the NCLEX, and if you don't pass it then you get your money back. OR you can do special tutorials with them until you DO pass it. I think that's a pretty good deal! I highly recommend it.
