Default Domestic Violence in the Workplace.

I just wrote a story over at Nursing Jobs. Org about domestic violence in the workplace. Many years ago I worked with a woman who was a victim of domestic violence. She came to work one day with a black eye and a story about how she ran into a door. My boss didn't believe and got her help. She was lucky because she got support from her employer. Have you seen similar things at work?

I'm lucky to at least not experience domestic violence. My wife can't beat me, and I can't take in my conscience harassing her.

Never have I seen colleagues in the hospital where i work suffer such violence yet, but i know of someone. There's this couple in our neighborhood slamming things around. And then next thing you'll know the sobbing wife storms out the house and leaves with the 2 kids, and comes back after a couple of weeks. It's just so disturbing that there are parents who cannot handle disputes without waging war at each other, especially when the kids are around.

Good thing the parents of the guy regularly visit the family. I think they helped the couple device effective ways to solve disputes. Now, i don't hear them shout or throw things at each other anymore.

It's really sad when kids witness domestic violence.
