To those that asked, yes, I am a stand up comic/actor/speaker/spoken word pOEt/writer/mommy/wife and yet undiscovered others! D
id I mention AUTHOR (yes,I am very proud of that accomplishment right now!)
My book, 'Notes From the Mothership The Naked Invisibles' talks of some of my nursing experiences amongst others. Also, as hard as I tried to get away from nursing in the writing of this book, nursing as it turns out greatly influenced and to a degree DEFINED me! Gawd! It was sobering and insightful to discover that about myself.

Just a little bit of what I discovered over 25 years of practice. We choose (intentionally or unintentionally) our battlegrounds for articulating our respective lives. My battleground ironically became the OR. I say ironically, because I work in an environment where we both excise and bypass disease. The same modes applied to my life. We, I excise some experiences and some people; and bypass others.

I wrote of the souvenirs of patients I have collected throughout my practice. And get this, the fact that people I work with, actually become...family!

I write of nursing, stand up comedy, obsession, sex (yes, I've had sex...I think...I don't remember, dammit!)

Fact:
The CEO of Cleveland Clinic will not want YOU to buy this book!(I'm sure he will try to fire me for what I wrote!)
This book is about life and it is my nursing 'Shawshank Redemption' of sorts. Who knew I was a writer?!(heh,heh)
