I'm afraid I fall into that catagory but I don't think it's the sole reason for me becoming a nurse. My late husband had a lot to do with that.

Thankfully, my childhood was normal. I wasn't a child of abuse nor alcoholism. My grandmother lived with us and my mother took care of her. Thinking back on things now, it was probably my mother that gave me the idea of what a nurse should really be like. She took care of my grandmother because she wanted to not because she "had" to. Nope, my mother wasn't a nurse, but she did a heck of a lot of nursing.

As with myownwoman my childhood was normal, and what is more there was no evidence anywhere of anyone giving care to anyone (other than us kids). I just wanted to be a nurse, don't know why, I just did.
