Hey everyone. I was looking at blogs and I just wanted to ask a quick question.
For the people with a blog, do you have a blog that's free (Blogger, Wordpress) or do you have your own domain? If you do have your own domain/website, how much does it cost a year and is it quite easy to set up? Do you find any advantages over having a domain or would you have rather had a free blog? Thanks all! ![]() |

I use wordpress.com which is free. However, I am thinking of my own domain now and to use wordpress.org.
My main issue with the free option of wordpress is that you cannot insert many of the widgets that are available for blogs / websites particularly if they use javascript. That can be a major irritation. |

I like Blogger! They've improved it over the past year and it's not as glitchy as it used to be.
I can play with the code or it does the work for me. It's free too.

I think both Blogger and Wordpress are awesome free blogs and I guess it'll really depend on the availability of the blog name too! I had Blogger for a few days and it was extremely easy to use, but I would like to experiment with Wordpress in the future just to see how Wordpress is.

I was using a big company for domain hosting, but it was expensive, and they gave me no additional help.
Now I use a woman, Wendy Milonas. She is very nice, and helpful, and only charges $5 a month. I started with free blogs at wordpress, that I still use. I now have a couple dot coms but they also use wordpress (so I didn't have to learn anything new to continue my blogging). Wendy has been so great and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have their own domain. Her email is wendymilonas at gmail dot com

I started out using blogger and when I finally used wordpress, I was hooked! I've been blogging since 2004.
I host my own blogs (I have several, though not the time I would like to devote to them)on my own hosting account. If you use a cpanel type of hosting, it's as easy as clicking a button to install wordpress. Then the fun can start. I've recently "fallen in love" with a particular wordpress template and have installed it on two different blogs with two different audiences www.NPBusiness.ORG and www.HealthyAgingForWomen. I love wordpress. I'd love it even more if I had Kim's magic person ![]() |
