I'm thinking about buying an iPhone. I love my Mac, but I'm hearing a lot of different opinions about the iPhone. Any ideas?

I don't have an iphone but have recently purchased an ipod touch which I believe to be very similar apart from that it can't make calls. My suggestion would be - go for it!

I think the iPhones are basically sold out at this point. Apple has stopped making the current version, and the general consensus is that it's because they have plans to unveil the next generation of iPhones in June. It will be interesting to see what they're up to.

I just got home from our local AT&T phone store. I held an iPhone in my hands. A real one that worked. I didn't like it. The screen had fingerprints all over it, and it was really hard to read anything on the web. I even enlarged the text, but I'm old, and I can't read dinky little screens. And forget about trying to type a darn thing with their little on screen keyboard.

The only think I like about the phone are the commercials. I keep hearing that catchy little tune playing in my head.

Who can ever keep up with this stuff? New generation already? what will this one do, make tea?

"...Make tea?" Oh, how funny! Thanks for the laugh. My firstborn-the-engineer quite frankly revels in gadgets, widgets, and things that morph into other things that may be altogether useless but are nevertheless interesting. Any day now I expect him to send me a box filled with little red strings which, when snapped with sufficient force, will create enough electricity to power the house. Or perhaps he will make good on his promise of a perpetual motion machine that not only bakes bread, fits in my purse, translates Chinese into Patagonian, and stores 13,562,380,451 of my favorite tunes, but can also be used as a reflective device by which to signal planes flying overhead in the event I am ever lost in the great woods. All I really want him to do is clean his stuff out of the garage so that we can find the back wall without danger to life, limb, or radiation limits.

Sigh.
