How many of you do any CE online? I know that some states (in the USA) don't require CE, but more states are starting to.

All nurses in the UK are required to do CPD (Continuing professional development) so I'd be interested in this too.

I'm doing an ECG course right now, with the intention to complete a certificate in Emergency nursing. Almost all these courses are online.
It's fine.. but i feel I'm paying for someone so that I will read a textbook. There are no other lecture materials in this course. I hate spending 200$ for a course when I have already done self directed learning prior to the course and so far nothing is new! Elaine |

My mother did a course on web publishing so that she could be noted as being qualified to instruct others. She knew more about it than the instructor. She ended up teaching the instructor more than she learnt herself.

Medicare is requiring some Hospice specific education for our Home Health and Hospice agency. Our director found a site "HEN" (hospice education network") and pays for us to watch on line videos, then take a test. We get any where from .6 CEU's to 1.5, depending on the length of the video. My state, NH, requires 30 CEUs every 2 years. Our director requires we do one topic each month.
