Default Should I take the NCLEX?

Hey Everyone,

As a Canadian nursing student, I'll be writing the Canadian RN exam, and that will allow me to work anywhere in Canada.

As of right now I do not have the desire to move to the U.S., but my partner is fairly ambitious and we could move anywhere (but not in the immediate future, nor even in the next 10 years). That means I could be living in the U.S. and don't necessarily want to go through the hassle of writing the test, especially with the stress of moving and having kids.

If I write the NCLEX this year, is there a yearly fee to keep me certified? Should I write it now, freshly out of school? Or should I just wait and see what ends up happening in the future?

Thanks a bunch!

Elaine
