Ah yes, Prissy from Gone With the Wind and I have a lot in common - no baby-birthing if I can help it.

We'll save ya if you're elderly in ER, but I don't know a single ER nurse who likes to birth a baby!

You should submit some posts to Change of Shift!

I love Prissy's quote from Gone With the Wind, "I don't know nothing about birthin' no babies." Thank God for L&D nurses. Welcome to Nursing Voices.

:secret:Change of Shift is a nursing blog carnival that runs every two weeks. You send in your best post and they are all compiled into one big post and hosted on a nursing (or doctor!) blog.

Nursing Jobs.org is hosting the next one, so you can send your submission to me at kmcallister911 at yahoo dot com.

It's lots of fun and you get to know a lot of new nurse bloggers that way!

thanks...I'll have to think about it...I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of my snarkiness lately...it's lacking the vigor it once had.

I second (or third) the "no babies in ED" rule. I push exceptionally fast up to L&D....

But welcome to Nursing Voices!

Oh well - sometimes you feel like a snark, sometimes you don't.

At any rate, welcome to nursingvoices!!!

Is it just me, or does it seems like all nursing bloggers either work in the ER or in L&D?

There do seem to be more than average nursing bloggers working in those area maybe this is because turnover of patients is high in both those areas, that major nursing / political issues are likely to arise more frequently and that the work seems more exciting to the average reader?

Having said that there are lots of areas of nursing I'd be interested in hearing more about, and that of course is the bonus of a place like this! :D

Do we really have more Critical Care Nurses here, or are we just more vocal? I mean, there is no nurse more vocal than a Critical Care Nurse is there?

Hmmm.... I don't know. It depends on what the ER is trying to send us :nurse:

Well I work hospice, palliative care, long-term care and academics....(hmmm, maybe that's why I don't blog as much as I should/could)...

Can't believe I am so late to this party! Just wanted to say hey to everyone. Hey, and I kinda cross the ED/ICU boundary with my niche, so guess I get to play on both sides of the fence!!! :heeeelllllooooo:
