Hi to everyone.I am a year-3 student nurse who is doing research on "Nurse VS Nurse Hostility" currently.I realise that it is a very common problem that happens among nurses,do you think so?I am pretty sure that it happens everywhere.The following are my questionnaires in order to complete my research survey.I have posted these questions online as part of my data collection.I hope all the members in this forum will participate in my questionnaires to allow me to find out the statistics of horizontal violence among nurses.:cheers:

SECTION B: Psychological and physical workplace violence

Horizontal violence is hostile and aggressive behaviour by individual or group members towards another member or groups of members of the larger group. This has been described as inter-group conflict. ( Duffy 1995). Horizontal violence is endemic in the workplace culture and it is an unacceptable and destructive phenomenon. All members of every workplace are urged to work together to address the issues of oppression and eliminate this unhealthy behaviour from the workplace.

17.no, i felt the harrassment would get worse if i did.
18.both a and b, I also think "abuse" is a complex social issue that is difficult to fit in neat little categories. Certainly work conditions can affect how you interact with others, but in my experience other factors come into play. The worst case I've ever seen involved a nurse who was truly incompetant. She had been reported to management but nothing was done. so the nurses that were forced to ddeal with her stupidity day in and day out started to be really nasty to her and she eventually quit.
