Cool What has been your favorite clinical rotation?

Hi all! I get asked this question almost all the what has been your favorite clinical rotation and why?

Right now I'm in psychiatric/mental health and it is so different. Very interesting...but different. Is it something I might want to do someday? I can't really say, but right now I don't really have a "favorite" clinical rotation. It's still only my second year of nursing.

I have yet to find one that really fits, but if anything, it would be General Surgery. Although i like being treated as a 4th year student now while doing paediatrics, I found that I learned more and liked the nursing tasks of Gen surg.

Mental health was interesting, especially reading the charts, but I felt like I didn't do anything, as my patients were there long-term. You can't really develop a therapeutic relationship in mental health with eight 8-hour shifts.

Of all the clinical rotations I had, one of the most memorable and I can say my favorite clinical rotation is in neonatal ICU. Though the looks of sick babies would really break your heart, it’s really heart warming to take care of them especially if you can see that their condition is improving and you’re partly responsible for it!
